Because you have listened to the harlot and have tasted of her sweet, poisonous delicacies and have turned your heart from devotion to the Lord God and His calling and plan for you, and prostituted yourself by engaging in adulterous acts for your own pleasures and riches, saying "this is my pay from my lovers who give me my food and water, wool and linen, oil and drink," I will fill your bellies with the bitterness of Jezebel's feasts and you will vomit up all you have eaten.  Your seed will disappear in the wind and your satisfaction will never come.

Your possessions will dry up and be devoured and you will suffer shame and disgrace in the land.  For you have not done what is in the heart and mind of the Lord, and you have trampled the sacred temples of the Lord.  You have empowered the hands of the evil doers and have oppressed the faithful and the righteous in exchange for your own selfish gain.

Now God's favor has turned to those you have despised and rejected, for you have set up idols in my name and led my people astray to chase after their own fantasies and gods.  The Lord of Heaven and earth has decreed judgment to come to your doors unless you earnestly repent of your adulteries and embrace His call to your own breast and exchange your yoke for His. For the yoke you carry will choke your vines and make them unfruitful and bind you till you are no longer useful.  And every fruitless vine will be burned and discarded on the Lord's day of wrath.

Hear the call of the Lord, "break up your unplowed ground, consecrate yourself to the Lord or His wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done..." for the Lord holds you accountable for the acts you have performed.

Isaiah 30:1-3  "Woe to the obstinate children," declares the LORD, "to those

who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit,

heaping sin upon sin; who go down to Egypt without consulting me; who look for

help to Pharaoh's protection, to Egypt's shade for refuge.  But Pharaoh's

protection will be to your shame, Egypt's shade will bring you disgrace.”
